With a reputation for pushing culinary boundaries and crafting exceptional dining experiences, Chef Niall Keating is set to elevate The Murdér Express to new heights of fine dining excellence.
The Murdér Express at Pedley Street Station has earned several awards, such as ‘Best Experience in London’ voted for by audiences of Design My Night for its immersive theatrical dining experiences where they blend storytelling, entertainment and fine dining at their East London venue. As the team at Funicular embark on a new journey, they are proud to welcome Chef Niall Keating to the ensemble.
About Chef Niall Keating:
Chef Niall Keating’s accolades include 2 Michelin Stars and Michelin European Young Chef of the Year amongst many others. His journey commenced with tenures at some of the world’s most illustrious kitchens, including Restaurant Sat Bains (2*) in Nottingham, Benu (3*) in San Francisco, and Kong Hans Kælder (2*) in Copenhagen.
In 2017, Niall’s rise in the culinary world was affirmed when he earned his first Michelin star at The Dining Room at Whatley Manor Hotel, Wiltshire. Remarkably, this achievement came a mere eight months after the restaurant’s opening. Just two years later, at the youthful age of 30, he clinched his second Michelin star. Niall’s commitment to sustainability also earned him one of Michelin’s green stars, highlighting his dedication to sustainable culinary practices.
Niall Keating’s illustrious career boasts an array of prestigious industry awards, including the title of Michelin Young European Chef in 2018 and the coveted Rising Chef Trophy in 2019. His triumph on the BBC’s Great British Menu in 2020 earned him the prestigious title of ‘Champion of Champions.’
In 2021, Niall ventured into the restaurant scene by opening ‘Lunar by Niall Keating,’ a fine dining gem located in his hometown of Stoke-on-Trent, on the iconic World of Wedgwood site, recently being recognised as ‘Best Independent Restaurant in Staffordshire’. Beyond the restaurant realm, Niall’s passion for hospitality transcended traditional boundaries. A unique partnership with the Formula One team, Williams Racing, in 2022 allowed him to take his culinary excellence to the racetrack, introducing an unparalleled dining experience to audiences worldwide while championing sustainability and British talent.
